Bio
Dr Ajaz Ahmed is an environmental economist and policy consultant with a PhD in Economics from Durham University, UK. He specialises in applied economic and policy analysis across sustainable and climate-smart agriculture, climate mitigation and adaptation, natural capital, social protection, and higher education, supporting governments, development partners, and private-sector clients. He brings hands-on expertise in survey design and implementation, economic valuation, choice modelling, and impact evaluation, conducting policy-relevant and high-impact research.
Dr Ahmed also has proven experience in proposal development and competitive bid writing, staff recruitment and training, team leadership, client communication, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilisation. He has authored peer-reviewed journal articles and policy reports and serves as a reviewer for several high-impact academic journals. He also contributes policy-focused commentary on socioeconomic and environmental issues to Dawn, one of Pakistan’s most widely read English daily newspapers.
